Radiographer Team Leader – CT
Location:RBWH and STARS

Position details

If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding role as a CT leader with real influence on patients, staff, and the CT service, and with possibilities for further career progression in the near future, this may be the perfect position for you. You would be one of two full-time CT Team Leaders, who manage 5 CT scanners and 25-30 staff across 2 services, both located in the Herston Health Precinct, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) and STARS (Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Service), Brisbane. Team Leader duties are allocated through mutual agreement between the two Team Leaders. This model provides the rare opportunity for at-hand comprehensive high level support during assimilation into the role and the department.

The combined CT services image approximately 3000 patients per month. You will have access to leading edge CT technology, with 4 out of the 5 scanners being detector-based spectral units. You will also use/gain clinical skills in high level CT examinations and high acuity patients e.g., ECMO patients, multitrauma, stroke and cardiac imaging, and high-end interventional procedures such as TACE, MWA, SIRT and cryoablation. You will be utilising your expert CT knowledge on a daily basis for independent decision making such as approval of CT requests and determination of appropriate imaging protocols.

You will also have the capacity to influence the future technological direction of the department, with procurement for the replacement of the 5th scanner to commence in the next 12 months. Furthermore, you will have a role in contributing to developing and improving CT services across Metro North and Queensland through membership to the Metro North Medical Imaging CT Community of Practice, and the Queensland Health  CT Reference Group. You will be ably supported for service improvement and research activities by the department’s full time research radiographer, who has significant clinical and managerial CT experience.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced CT radiographer looking to advance their career towards high level operational management of a medium sized team. With future expansion of the CT service expected with the planned opening of the new Queensland Cancer Centre on the Herston Health Precinct in 2028, there is potential for the development of a CT operations manager role.

We will provide mentoring and development to someone who currently does not have all the attributes required of the position, but who demonstrates the behavioural capabilities to succeed in the role. If you have proven clinical expertise with service delivery/improvement history, please still apply.

Remuneration

$160 603 – $167 581 per annum (Inclusive of standard 17.5% leave loading and 12.75% superannuation)
