National Event hosted by NSW Branch – CPD Session on Supporting Behavioural Change for Radiation Therapy Patients

Learn effective behavioural change principles, the mechanisms underlying motivational interviewing and an introduction into using the method, primarily used in radiation therapy departments.     

Changing patient behaviour is increasingly becoming part of health interventions, however the science of behaviour change is often not taught as part of clinical training. Motivational Interviewing is an evidence-based method to effectively bring about behavioural change.

Presenter – Dr Ben Britton

Dr Ben Britton is the Head of Psychology in Hunter New England Mental Health, a Senior Clinical & Health Psychologist, Clinical Research Fellow, and Director of What Works in Health behaviour change consultancy. He specialises in the practical implementation of evidence-based behaviour change in clinical health settings. For more than 15 years he has led clinical innovations in health behaviour change and award-winning research to evaluate it. He has led collaborations with hospitals and universities around Australia and the world.
