FIRST CHIEF ALLIED HEALTH OFFICER FOR AUSTRALIA ANNOUNCED

Hot off the press is the announcement that Minister for Health, the Hon Greg Hunt has appointed Dr Anne-marie Boxall as the first Chief Allied Health Officer for Australia.  Dr Boxall is an Adjunct Professor at Sydney University, with an allied health background in physiotherapy.

This is a position that ASMIRT has long advocated for, and we have been closely involved in lobbying government to create this role through our ongoing membership of Allied Health Professions Australia (AHPA). I look forward to meeting Dr Boxall in person in the near future – or more likely via ZOOM given the COVID-19 situation – and to working with her to represent all medical radiation professionals across Australia.

This is great news indeed.
