Seeking Australian Volunteers for a new cancer centre in Port Moresby

Australian Volunteers are seeking expressions of interest from Radiation Therapists (RT) for an exciting opportunity to work at a new cancer centre in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea in 2023. The centre will be equipped with a Varian Halcyon plus the ARIA and Eclipse systems.

This position is for a Radiation Therapy Trainer to support and train the staff in the principles and practice of radiation therapy planning including, usage of immobilization devices and CT simulation, as well as treatment delivery including image guidance protocols.

The position would likely commence in the second half of calendar year 2023 and would be for 3-6 months, based at the Port Moresby General Hospital. Ideally the position would commence about a month prior to the opening of the new centre, currently scheduled for completion in September 2023.

Interested Radiation Therapists need to have AHPRA registration and a minimum of 5 years’ experience as an RT in both planning and treatment.

Allowances will be paid including airfare and accommodation.
