Radiation Therapist

The Role:

  • Carry out planning and treatment of patients with x-rays, electrons or radiation from sealed sources as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist.
  • Associated duties include patient care, general and technical administration.

The Department of Health seeks a highly motivated and team orientated Radiation Therapist at the WP Holman Clinic, Launceston, Tasmania. The department has two high energy linear accelerators, CT simulator, 3D planning system and a high dose rate brachytherapy unit.

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for the planning and treatment of patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist under the supervision of a Senior Radiation Therapist or Area Supervisor

Radiation Therapy techniques used in Launceston include IMRT, VMAT, DIBH, SBRT & IGRT.

The Holman Clinic is part of the Northern Cancer Service which provides an integrated radiation therapy, medical oncology and haematological service to Northern Tasmania.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, full time, day work position working 76 hours per fortnight commencing ASAP for 12 months.

Salary: $76,421 – $114,333 per annum + 10.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging.
