The Role:

  • Responsible for performing general medical imaging examinations and procedures and advanced specialised MRI procedures and associated administrative tasks utilising broad knowledge and advanced skills in the clinical situation.

The Area:

The Royal Hobart Hospital is the tertiary referral hospital for Tasmania. The Medical Imaging Department provides all specialist imaging modalities 24/7 through rostered shifts and on call services. The MRI Unit is equipped with 2 GE scanners, a SIGNA Premier 3T and a Optima 450w 1.5T, and operates from 7am to 7pm on weekdays with an on call service overnight and on weekends. The service provides a wide variety of scans for inpatients, outpatients and patients from the Emergency Department.

Details of Appointment:

Permanent, full time, shift work position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Remuneration

Salary: $96,689 to $114,391 per annum + 10.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $724 per annum or the ability to accrue funds for up to five years.
  • Post graduate qualification salary advancement where applicable.
  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $105,245 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
  • Salary range is in accordance with the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2019.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Registered with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Completion of a post graduate qualification in MRI or ASMIRT certification in MRI.

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
