Your role in our future.

An exciting position is available for a Senior Radiation Therapist to coordinate and support research activities across Peter Mac’s five campuses. Reporting to the Director Radiation Therapy Services (RTS), the Lead Radiation Therapy Clinician Scientist will work as part of the Radiation Therapy Operations Team and wider Radiation Oncology and hospital multi-disciplinary team in developing strategic research opportunities and partnerships, and undertake, coordinate and implement clinical research priorities which align with the strategic directions of Peter Mac.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in clinical research including project management, ethics applications, grant applications and publications, and a strong commitment to translating clinical research to practice. They will have an ability to advance and strengthen relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including investigators, patients and a diverse range of clinical and research staff, and foster cooperation and support from colleagues.

As the Lead Radiation Therapy Clinician Scientist, you will be required to support and develop the radiotherapy research profile of Peter Mac RTS across all campuses, tumour streams and with both internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate should have an evident record of strong leadership skills and experience in communicating, influencing and negotiating with all staff across multiple disciplines, encouraging involvement in and support of research at all levels.

  • A comprehensive and current knowledge of radiation therapy professional requirements for planning and treatment procedures;
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills; and
  • An evident commitment to patient care.
