AIR Membership Renewals 2016/17 and Early Renewals

The Board of Directors of the AIR has approved fee increases for the various fee-paying AIR membership categories, for the forthcoming membership renewal year: July 2016 to June 2017. For example, the full ordinary membership fee will increase from $495.00 (inc. GST) to $530.00 (inc GST). This increase reflects the impact of rising operating costs across a number of areas during the previous membership years.

The full ordinary early bird member renewal fee will be $515.00 (inc. GST) for those who opt to renew early.  Emails and further information regarding this process will follow in late March/early April.

We have previously indicated possible future changes in relation to the payroll deduction payment method. Whilst these changes remain in the planning phase, please note that for the forthcoming membership renewal year (July 2016 - June 2017) there will be NO CHANGES to the current arrangements.

It should further be noted that whichever method of payment is employed (direct/upfront payment or payroll deduction/incremental payment), professional membership fees paid to the Australian Institute of Radiography are tax deductible.

All members recorded as direct/upfront fee payers with a valid email address recorded with the Institute will receive an email renewal notice (with easy, quick-pay code) in early April 2016.

Existing payroll deduction/incremental fee payers wishing to take advantage of this discount/offer are encouraged to contact the Institute’s membership department (membership@air.asn.au) and their payroll office in order that their outstanding payroll payments can be finalised for the current membership year and their status switched to an upfront payer. 

We encourage all members to renew this year via upfront payment and utilising the Institute’s secure and simple online payment facility (available from early April 2016, via the AIR homepage membership renewal banner).

AIR Offices closed 14 March

AIR offices will be closed on Monday 14th March for the Labour Day Holiday, and re open on Tuesday 15th March.

2016 RACV Sir Edmund Herring Memorial Scholarship

Applications are now open for the 2016 RACV Sir Edmund Herring Memorial Scholarship.

The RACV Sir Edmund Herring Memorial Scholarship aims to prevent road trauma and improve the quality of care delivered to road trauma victims. The scholarship has been awarded annually since 1983 in memory of the late Sir Edmund Herring, a former Lieutenant Governor of Victoria and RACV Patron for 34 years. Applicants must be health professionals who are Australian residents and work in the state of Victoria.

The successful candidate(s) receives up to $58,000 to undertake a project that will benefit the motoring public.

Previously funded projects include the trial of speech pathology tests to better identify high level communication problems in brain injury patients and the development of guidelines for returning to driving following a traumatic brain injury.
