AIR Office Closed Monday 9 June

The AIR Secretariat office will be closed on Monday 9 June for the Queen's Birthday public holiday, and will re-open on Tuesday 10 June.

Fax, voicemail and email messages communicated to the office during this time will be responded to as soon as possible.

Expressions of Interest: Clinical Advisors to the Health Ombudsman, Queensland

From 1 July 2014, the Office of the Health Ombudsman will become the health service complaints handling agency for Queensland, replacing the Health Quality and Complaints Commission and assuming certain responsibilities currently performed by AHPRA in Queensland.

Expressions of interest are invited from clinicians who would like to be involved as a clinical advisor and advisory committee member, to assist in the assessment of health service complaints, the undertaking of investigations and the conduct of disciplinary matters before the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

To be eligible, clinicians must meet the following criteria:

  • approved professional qualification for relevant area of clinical practice
  • minimum of five years post-graduate experience in general practice, or minimum five years post-fellowship with the relevant specialist college
  • current clinical practice
  • current (general or specialist) registration with an approved registration board.

Clinicians can express their interest by submitting the following to recruitment@oho.qld.gov.au by 5pm Monday 9 June:

  • a CV and contact details of two referees
  • demonstration of the above criteria
  • details of any matters that may conflict or restrict you from performing as clinical advisor fairly, competently and independently
  • details of any previous or current health service complaints made against you and written consent for the Health Ombudsman to seek further information from the HQCC, AHPRA or other relevant agencies.
