The AIR's National Office (25 King Street, Melbourne) will be closed for the Easter public holidays from Friday 29 March to Monday 1 April 2013.

The office will resume normal operations on Tuesday 2 April.

AIR Member Renewals 2013/14


The Board of the AIR has approved a fee increase of 8% for the various membership categories for the 2013/14 year.  This fee increase was proposed during the 2012 AGM and formally announced at the 2013 AGM.  For example, the full ordinary membership fee will increase from $407.70 (inc. GST) to $440.00 (inc. GST). This increase reflects the impact of the rising costs during the previous six years for which there has not been any fee adjustment.

To assist members in managing the changes and the fee increase and to prepare for renewals we are proposing to open the renewal period early this year - as from the end of March.  For those who choose to renew early (that is up until 30 April 2013), we will offer the opportunity, this year only, to pay one more year as an upfront payment at the existing membership rate.   For example, Ordinary Members electing to pay early will pay $407.70 (inc. GST) – representing a saving of $32.30.  

Furthermore, the Institute is proposing to phase out the payroll/salary deduction payment method by the end of the membership year (either 2013-14 or 2014-2015) in order to increase processing efficiency and to eliminate a number of significant problems in making adjustments with payroll offices when the AIR is reliant on members notifying their employer. Payroll deduction payers will be able to choose from the following two options:

A) upfront payment option, including one-off secure online payment via the Institute’s website.
B) monthly direct debit option (note: this option will only be available to full ordinary fellows and members) and will incur a processing/administration charge on top of the total ordinary membership fee.

It should be noted that whichever method of payment is employed, professional membership fees paid to the Australian Institute of Radiography are tax deductible.

All members recorded as direct, upfront fee payers with a valid email address recorded with the Institute should expect to receive an email renewal notice (with easy, quick-pay code) by the end of the week ending Friday 29 March 2013.   The payment gateway will be available before the end of the week ending, Friday 29 March 2013.

Existing payroll deduction/incremental fee payers wishing to take advantage of this offer are encouraged to speak to the Institute’s membership department and their payroll office in order that their outstanding payroll payments can be finalised and their status switched to an upfront payer.

We would encourage all members to renew early this year via upfront payment and utilising the Institute’s secure and simple online payment facility (available before the end of March, via the AIR homepage).
