Application for Exemption from Victorian Medical Imaging Intern and PCP 2012-13 Match (Diagnostic Radiography Match) 

This form is to be completed by an intern or professional clinical placement (PCP) candidate that wants to apply for an exemption to participating in the official match; and to facilitate a pre-matched arrangement with a cluster or private centre.

Applications for exemption will only be considered in certain situations and applications must be received by 15 October 2012.

Alliance for Radiation Safety in Pediatric Imaging: New " Back to Basics" Campaign

The Image gently website (www.imagegently.org) has been updated with new educational content supporting the Back to Basics message.

Materials now posted on the Image Gently Web site include: 

• A full page ad for the Back to Basics campaign including poster and checklist.
• A pamphlet and frequently asked questions for parents on Digital Radiography exams.
• Scientific articles, free PowerPoint presentations to use, and Practice Quality Improvement    
  (PQI) projects.

• Practical methods to standardize the approach to Digital Radiography and discussion of the Exposure Index.

Members are encouraged to access the online materials, to make the materials available to patients and parents, and to promote the campaign to referring physicians.

NSW Government - Health (SEPTEMBER 2012)

The Public Health Act 2010 and the Public Health Regulation 2012 commenced on 1 September 2012.

While many of the provisions of the earlier legislation will continue, the new Act and Regulation contain a number of requirements that will impact on a range of health practitioners.

To support the implementation of the Act and Regulation, information sheets have been developed on specific areas, such as the procedures for notification of certain diseases and for the notification of deaths after anaesthesia or sedation.   These and other materials can be accessed through the NSW Ministry of Health webpage dedicated to Public Health Legislation: http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/phact/
