Applications are invited for position of CPD Project Officer for the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CPD Project Officer to undertake a review of the Society’s CPD program.

Position Description

The roles and responsibilities of the CPD Project Officer include, but are not limited to the following:

Benchmark with other health professionals CPD programs and look at best practice locally and internationally:

  • Content
  • Process
  • Ease of accrual and upload
  • Automation
  • Cost of programs

Review of Appellation / Accreditation (approval of activities) for Universities/organisations/OEM/corporate:

  • Documentation
  • Process
  • Benefits
  • Audit process
  • Automation
  • Cost of “validation”

Look at types of educational activities being undertaken to meet the needs of current and developing practice Review the internal audit process Points vs credits vs hours – how do we ascertain value Corporate sponsor fees etc – benchmark this against other health professional societies

Desirable Qualifications

The CPD project officer will be required to have the following skills and attributes:

  • Understanding of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Previous experience with CPD processes and requirements
  • Understanding of the role of the Society and educational processes
  • Understanding of professional education in health care;
  • Previous experience in development of practice standards for healthcare delivery;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including educational providers, clinical staff, regulatory bodies, industry representatives and students.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a part-time grade 1 position within our close-knit team. The position is for four days per week. The role will be a general MIT role, involved in X-ray, operating theatres, mobile X-ray, and fluoroscopy. Experience in other modalities, such as CT and mammography, would be advantageous or training may be available for the right candidate.

Your role in our future:

Peter Mac is seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist Manager to provide clinical and operational leadership. They will be responsible for managing service efficiency and for the delivery of safe, high quality and exceptional patient care.

The Campus Manager, Radiation Therapy Services at Moorabbin, is a key member of the local campus management team with direct responsibility for managing the day to day operations of the Centre and is also a key contributor to Peter Mac’s Radiation Therapy Senior Management team. In conjunction with the Director, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing leadership and contributing to strategic planning for radiation therapy service development.

The successful applicant will have:

  • excellent current knowledge of radiation therapy practice;
  • a proven track record of development and innovation in Radiation Therapy;
  • an ability to improve outcomes for patients;
  • a high level of motivation;
  • a strong ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels;
  • extensive experience in leading teams to high performance;
  • a proven collaborative approach;
  • experience in Radiation Oncology management;
  • sound communication skills; and
  • the ability to operate as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Postgraduate management or business qualifications are desirable. Your registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) should be current, along with your Victorian Department of Health Radiation Use License and Victorian Working with Children Check.
